Sun City is a fine art photography

collection by Australian artist

Belinda Van Zanen.

A triptych of a woman in different settings: a close-up portrait with blonde hair and blue eyes, a black-and-white full-body shot of her standing against a concrete wall with windblown hair, and a black-and-white image of her holding a vintage camera, wearing a white shirt.

Founded in Noosa Heads in 2021

I've always been drawn to the things most people walk past.

The way afternoon light lands on an old Mercedes. A faded sign that's survived decades. An empty street that somehow feels full of memory.

It took me years to realise where that came from.

Every family holiday ended with the slide projector coming out. The same photographs would flicker across the wall – old cars parked in the sun, neighbours chatting in driveways, ordinary moments no one thought twice about. Looking back at those slides recently, I realised I'd been photographing those memories my whole life.

Then came dog-eared surf magazines from the 1970s. I spent hours lost in their pages, drawn to the grain, the colour, the freedom, and a world that felt both familiar and out of reach.

Sun City is where all of that meets. It's a collection of photographs shaped as much by memory as by place – an invitation to slow down, notice the beauty hiding in plain sight, and perhaps remember something of your own.

Black background with a simple white outline of a lightning bolt in the center.
